March 21st 2014 William (right) was baptized into Christ for the forgiveness of his sins (Gal. 3:26,27, Acts 2:38). Praise the Lord. Being concerned with just where his picture may be posted, I have withheld his last name. William did however ok me posting this picture here.
William is a man whom we (Janice Shelton, Pamela Hernandez and I) met at a McDonald’s while doing a community outreach study (see picture post titled Community Outreach Study for explination). He came up to our table in response to our sign and said he was interested in studying the Bible with other believers.
Janice Shelton of the Anaheim congregation (left) and I began a personal study multiple times a week with William February 26th, 2014.
Since William’s baptism, the three of us as well as David Norris of the Anaheim assembly are continuing studies together. William is not assembling with us at Anaheim, but has remained at the assembly he was attending when we met him – Calvary Chapel.
We are currently studying the identifying marks of the Lord’s church in an effort to help us all compare our current religious assemblies with what the Bible identifies as the church Jesus built. Where we find agreement with the Bible we rejoice. Where we find contradiction, we admonish one another to make necessary changes to our practice and if necessary even assembly.
Baptism is not the end of our work with people we meet, but the beginning of our familial relationship with them.
Your prayers for this study and continued relationship with brother William are welcome and invited.
