My parents, Tom and Sharon Yost, arrived in Anaheim, CA from Garnet, KS this past Friday May 2nd. While sitting outside our fifth wheel enjoying sunny California weather, one of our immediate neighbors, Gabbi, came over and initiated a conversation with them. The conversation lasted probably close to an hour. Prior to this, the only conversation I had had with my neighbor over the past three months had been brief greetings.
Thirty minutes in, I joined my parents in the conversation and eventually directed it toward a personal Bible study invitation. I am not sure what all my folks spoke to my Gabbi about but she was very open to discussing spiritual things by the time I joined in.
The conversation ended with Gabbi suggesting that she was appreciative of the spiritual conversation and very interested in scheduling a personal study. We failed to get a study scheduled at that time because of schedule conflicts, but voiced hope to schedule one soon.
Thank the Lord for brethren who work for the Lord even on vacation! We may take a break from school, work and the daily grind, but we never take a break from our service to the Lord.
My parents took experiences, memories and souvenirs with them from California back to Kansas, but helped leave the treasure of the Kingdom of God in the heart of at least one Californian! Praise the Lord!
Maybe one day in heaven they’ll be able to introduce you to Gabbi because of the vacation they took to California.
Brethren, share the gospel wherever you go. YOUR WORLD needs Jesus!
