Duane Needham of the California Acres assembly invited coworker Claude to church some time ago.
After a layoff followed by an unannounced visit to the California Acres Sunday assembly, followed by an invitation to personal Bible study, followed by a personal Bible study…
…followed by the circumcision of the body of the flesh (sin) by Christ (i.e. baptism)…
…the church of Christ (Matthew 16:18, Romans 16:16) and angels in heaven (Luke 15:10) celebrate a new brother in Christ (Galatians 3:26,27)!
“and in Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ;
having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.” Colossians 2:11,12
Biblical baptism is not a meritorious work of man earning him the right to be saved (Ephesians 2:8,9), but rather a submissive act of faith in the saving work of God through Jesus Christ preceeding and resulting in salvation (1 Peter 3:21)!
“for “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13
“Now why do you delay? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name.’” Acts 22:16
Have you done this?
Have you ever invited others to do this?
Who in your life might you be able to give an invitation to know God who might bring such joy into the world and heaven as Claude has, by accepting it?
Take the next step in your relationships. Share salvation in Jesus with those around you.
God be with you!
